<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt">A belated update regarding two new collaborations between the Sydney Corpus Lab and other groups. We’ve now got informal collaborations (mutual support and sharing of information/resources) with Macquarie University’s
<a href="https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/yiLQCxngwOfJ0DrR0sweSo1?domain=languageonthemove.com/" target="_blank">
Language on the Move</a> (sociolinguistic research group/site) and with the University of Birmingham’s
<a href="https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/ITqyCyojxQTNWK92WHNjd71?domain=birmingham.ac.uk">
Centre for Corpus Research</a> (a centre supporting the use of corpus analysis in research, teaching and learning). These new collaborations strengthen our national and international networks in sociolinguistics and corpus linguistics.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The 44th annual conference of <b>the International Computer Archive of Modern and Medieval English (ICAME44)</b> is being hosted by the North-West University in Vanderbijlpark, South Africa on 18-21 May 2023. The conference format will
be hybrid, with on-site and on-line participation possible. Please submit your abstract via
<a href="https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/Ybn2CD1vlpTBmwgJmH8DTWB?domain=easychair.org">
EasyChair</a>. The submission deadline for early review (before Christmas) is 2 December 2022, but otherwise, the deadline will be 23 December 2022 for review done by end of January 2023. More information will be available on the

<p class="MsoNormal">In addition to paper proposals, proposals for <b>pre-conference workshops</b> (taking place on 17 May 2023) are also welcome. Workshop proposals should be sent directly to the conference organiser, Bertus van Rooy (<a href="mailto:a.j.vanrooy@uva.nl">a.j.vanrooy@uva.nl</a>).
Workshops proposals should indicate whether the desired time allocation is for half a day (3-4 hours) or a full day (6-8 hours). Proposals of 500 words should indicate what the theme of the workshop is and the main contribution it seeks to achieve. The submission
deadline for the workshop proposals will be 23 December 2022 with the notice of acceptance on 17 January 2023.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The <a href="https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/MkMxCGv0oyCJlEjOlsXHJoH?domain=atap.edu.au/" target="_blank">
Australian Text Analytics Platform</a> (ATAP) and the <a href="https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/55fWCJyBrGf8zl0AzSmmNEf?domain=ldaca.edu.au/" target="_blank">
Language Data Commons of Australia</a> (LDaCA) are collaborative projects led by the University of Queensland and supported by the
<a href="https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/bEqFCK1DvKTqwP3MwSyFyoi?domain=ardc.edu.au/" target="_blank">
Australian Research Data Commons</a> to develop infrastructure for researchers who work with language data. At Sydney, we’re involved through the Sydney Corpus Lab, the Sydney Informatics Hub, and Paradisec.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The <b>ATAP launch</b> was held at Research Bazar Queensland (ResBazQld) earlier this month. You can access a beta version of the ATAP portal, which gives you sense of some of the things being developed

<p class="MsoNormal">The Sydney Corpus Lab participated in the <b>ATAP-LDaCA pre-conference workshop</b> before the Australian Linguistic Society (ALS) conference in Melbourne on Tuesday 29<sup>th</sup> November. You can find out more information about it

</span><a href="https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/iKx7CP7LAXf4m9yNmSvR1FL?domain=ardc.edu.au"><b>HASS RDC and IRC program</b></a> on 2-3 February next year in Melbourne<span style="color:#222222">. The symposium will showcase the research infrastructure created
as part of the HASS RDC and IRC Program and the potential for improved research outcomes that it supports. Presentations will be given by partners from the HASS RDC and IRC Program. To register for the event, please visit the

<b>HASS RDC and IRC Computational Skills Summer School</b> in Sydney from 7-8 February next year<b>.
</b><span style="color:#222222">The Summer School will feature skills development workshops to help researchers use the research infrastructure created as part of the HASS RDC and IRC Program. The projects from the HASS RDC and IRC Program will present workshops
on using the tools and platforms. The Summer School will include skills development workshops on basic data management skills, using Jupyter Notebooks, the Australian Text Analytics Platform, and using the Indigenous Data Catalogue. To register for the event,
